Putting a break to a two -decade long career, he informed about this decision through Instagram post. He wrote on Instagram, ‘After being on the field for more than two decades, now the time has come to say goodbye to this beautiful game.’ Piyush Chawla played 3 Tests, 25 ODIs and 7 T20 matches for India. He took a total of 43 wickets.

On the retirement of Piyush Chawla, Yuvraj Singh posted social media a passionate posting for him and wrote, ‘I have played with many colleagues in the last few years, but very few people have shown flexibility and dedication that #Piyushchawla showed in the field. From emerging as a youth to becoming the World Cup winner twice, PC has made a career by performing well when needed.
