India vs England Test: The 5 Test series between India and England is scheduled to begin on Friday (June 20). Before that, bad news has come for Team India. Karun Nair, who was expecting a return to Test cricket after almost eight years, was injured. The incident took place just two days before the start of the Test. This series will also start the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 cycle for both teams.

Krishna’s injury on the ball

Karun Nair has been included in Team India after 2017. Karun hit a fast ball of the famous Krishna at the rib during the net session. The 33 -year -old player looked uncomfortable with this injury. However, he soon resumed batting. After his batting session, he showed the place to the support staff and team members where the ball was hit.

Nair upset on the net

Despite a minor injury, Nair’s performance in the net raised concerns. He was initially seen fighting against Jaspreet Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj. He was hesitating against the balls outside the off stump. His difficulties against spin also continued. Ravindra Jadeja once bowled him clean. Nair also interacted with batting coach Shitanshu Kotak and improved his game.

Had scored a century in 2016

Karun Nair scored a triple century in his third Test in December 2016. After this, he was out of the team after playing three more Tests. He has so far scored 374 runs in 6 Tests with an average of 62.33. His highest score in Test is 303 not out. He was excluded after the Dharamshala Test against Australia in March 2017.

Runs were rained in domestic

Karun tried hard after this, but he did not come in the team. Despite this, Nair did not give up. He performed a bang in the 2024-25 seasons of the Ranji Trophy. Nair scored 863 runs in 9 matches at an excellent average of 53.94. This season, Nair scored 4 centuries and 2 half -centuries. Apart from this, he also batted vigorously in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Nair scored 779 runs in 9 matches at an average of 389.50. During this, he hit 5 centuries. Nair was selected in the team for the tour of England after this brilliant performance.
