From June 20, Team India will play a 5 -match Test series against England. Prior to this series, Team India has reached England and is continuously practicing. Meanwhile, the vice-captain and wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant hit such a bang in the practice session that the roof of the Kent County Cricket Ground broke.
This incident happened during the practice session of the Indian team. The Indian team first practiced in Lord’s and then pushed their preparations forward on the ground of Kent. Pant put a strong slog sweep off the off spinner Washington Sundar, causing the ball to fall directly to the roof of the stand.
Significantly, Pant’s performance in IPL 2025 was not much special. Playing for Lucknow Super Giants, he scored 269 runs in 13 innings. However, in the last league match against RCB, he scored an unbeaten 118 and indicated to return to the form.
Pant, 27, has a great record in Test cricket in England. He has scored 556 runs including two centuries in 9 Tests. After the retirement of Kohli and Rohit Sharma, the Indian team is entering a new era, where the role of an aggressive batsman like Pant will be important.
