The five -Test series between India and England will be played in Leeds from 20 June. With this, India will start its new World Test Championship (WTC) cycle under the leadership of newly appointed captain Shubman Gill.
According to India’s bowling coach Morne Morkel, it will be important to maintain continuity under the circumstances of England. Along with this, he admitted that before the Test series starting against England, the team got less chance to play with red ball, which is a little nervous.
Morkel said, ‘I think it is important to maintain continuity in England and when we practice, it has continuity, continuity outside the field. Our players will have to find the process that is favorable to their game.
He said, ‘We have a lot of diversity. There is diversity in our invasion, we have players with different skills, so they can do this and at the same time can implement ‘basics’ (basic things).

India last played cricket with a red ball during the Sydney Test against Australia in early January this year. Apart from this, many players including Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sai Sudarshan will play Test series in England for the first time in the current team.
Morkel said, ‘Overall, I am very happy with the preparation so far. We have played less cricket with red ball recently, which I was a little nervous, but in the last three days, it was nice to see the way the players practiced.
He said, ‘We have a great team. It is very energetic and you need this. You have to get into the Test series with confidence and have a team spirit.
This former South African fast bowler said that till now the circumstances have been largely compatible with the fast bowlers. Morkel said, ‘The circumstances in two days of practice so far were compatible with the fast bowlers. It was a test clock for the batsmen, which also helped them to get ready for the upcoming challenge.
