India vs New Zealand Schedule ODI and T20I 2026: A big news has come out about ODI and T20 matches between the Test season. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has taken a big step to strengthen the preparations for the T20 World Cup 2026. The T20 World Cup is to be held in India and Sri Lanka in February-March next year. A big series is going to happen before that.
Team India will land under the captaincy of Rohit and Surya
The Indian cricket team will play 3 ODIs and 5 T20 series against New Zealand in January. It is being linked to the preparations for the T20 World Cup. The BCCI spoke about this series on Saturday (June 14). Rohit Sharma will captain India in ODI and Suryakumar Yadav T20 series. Surya will also take over the team in the T20 World Cup.

Executive group for umpire coach
The BCCI Apex Council has resolved to set up an executive group with five (5) ‘umpire coaches’ to oversee the development of umpires and increase their on-field performance. These five ‘umpire coaches’ should have international umpiring experience and should have served as former umpire.

Executive group for match referee
Apart from this, the Apex Council has decided to form an executive group with three (3) pre -match referee. This executive group will be responsible for monitoring the development of match referee and providing them opportunities to improve their performance in cricket matches.
BCCI domestic season 2025-26
The 2025-26 domestic season will start from the Dalip Trophy (August 28, 2025) and end with the Senior Women’s Inter-Zonal Multi-Day Trophy (April 3, 2026). The Ranji Trophy will be held in two phases from 15 October to 28 February. In this, there will be promotion and demotion of a team from plate group in a changed format.
