New Zealand Cricket: New Zealand Cricket (NZC) made a big announcement on Friday. He made Rob Walter the coach of the men’s team in all three formats. He has got a contract up to the ICC T20 World Cup to be held in October-November 2028. Walter is made a coach instead of Gary Stead. The tenure of the stead has been successful and the new coach says that he will work to carry forward their work.

These challenges in front of Walter

Walter ICC World Test Championship, 2028 LA Olympics, ICC 2026 T20 World Cup, ICC 2027 Cricket World Cup and ICC 2028 T20 World Cup will try to succeed New Zealand. ‘NZC’ quoted Walter as saying, “Black caps have been a successful and high-educated team on the world stage for some time. It is really good luck to get a chance to contribute in this. At such a time, working with such talented groups of players and supporting staff is a wonderful opportunity, in which so many global events as well as bilateral series will be organized. It is exciting, it is challenging and a chance for all is very big. ”

Have done work in IPL

Walter was born in South Africa. He was recently the coach of the South African men’s cricket team (White Ball). The South African team reached the final of the Cricket World Cup-2023, the semi-finals of the Champions Trophy-2025 and the T20 World Cup-2024. Walter also gave coaching to the men’s New Zealand A team in India in the year 2022. He has earlier been the head coach of the South African team Eastern Titans besides being an assistant coach of Pune Warriors India and Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals).

Walter’s great record

Walter first played the role of head coach for Otago Volts and Central Stags. During his tenure with Otago Volts, Walter brought the team to the super smash play-off in 2019-20. In 2018-19 and 2019-20, the team was taken to the back-to-back Ford Trophy final. His time with Central Stags was even more impressive. The team made it to the Ford Trophy final in 2021-22. After this, in 2022-23, the Ford Trophy and Plunket Shield won the championship.
