Whenever a tragic incident occurs in our country, a round of allegations and counter-allegations starts. This is happening on June 4, even after a stampede outside the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. After this sad incident, there is confusion on social media, many questions are being asked.
We often raise finger on big names and big faces, while the need is to understand the reasons behind the event. In such a situation, we have tried to remove the curtain from this matter by investigating the answers to 7 questions. Because until we understand the real reason, such incidents will continue again. Players will win, celebrations will be celebrated. In such a situation, fans will also come to see their favorite stars …
Question No. 1: Shouldn’t there be a Wikti Parade in India?
Some people are now saying that there should be no Victory Parade in a country like India because we cannot handle it. This can only be someone’s personal opinion, but it will not be completely correct to close the Victory Parade. Victory parades are worldwide- football, cricket, Olympics everywhere. About 3 lakh people in Bengaluru came to see their heroes, some people did not go, which would be their personal opinion. Fans do not have this much right. The flawed, it should be improved, not the tradition should be abolished.
Question No. 2: Why are the fans only guilty because they do not have citizen understanding?
It would also be unfair to say this. Fans are quite enthusiastic, as well as crazy about their favorite players. This happens in the whole world. Not all fans are the same. Therefore, it cannot be said that the behavior of fans is the basic root of the problem. We should have a system to control the crowd. There should be human operating process (sop), experienced staff. If this is not, then the mistake is of the system, not the fans. Fans are the same not only in India but in the whole world. They get swept away in emotions and do not shy away from celebrating.

Question No. 3: Can some policemen handle such a large crowd?
This is not completely correct. Whether there are one thousand or 2000 policemen, the number does not matter. SOP and preparation matters. You cannot deploy a policeman on every 100 people. This does not happen in the whole world. The big thing is how much the police had planned. There are some protocols that should be followed. Intelligence is also there. This is the flaw of our system, not the number.
Question No. 4: The players were in a hurry to go, so the police was pressurized and the event was held in a hurry?
It may have happened. Perhaps the players wanted to go to their respective homes, so they would want to celebrate the next day of victory. But the final decision is of the police. No event can be held without the approval of the police. If the police was not ready, they should have refused. Therefore, it is not correct to say that the players were organized because of the players. If the police approved, then their responsibility is made.
Question No. 5: Did the program be done without the permission of the police?
This is also wrong. Without the permission of the police, the team of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) could not go from the airport to Vidhan Saudha (Karnataka Assembly). The police had only refused for the open bus parade, allowing Vidhan Saudha and Chinnaswamy to go to the stadium. The stampede also took place in the same places where the police was present. This means that the police was aware of the event, as well as approved. I was also there and I saw it with my eyes. The police definitely banned the open bus parade. But in the two places where the event took place, the police agreed.

Question number 6: Was the players celebrating despite knowing that their fans have been killed?
No. My personal experience says that when the fans were fainting, that time was between 4 and 4.30 in the evening. When the team just came at 5 o’clock, no one knew that there were deaths. The media found information around 5.15 pm when the event was going on at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. As soon as this news was received, the event was shortened. According to the earlier planning, two hours of celebrations were to be held, but it was finished in 15 minutes. So to say that the players were aware of death, it is not right. If they had known, they would not celebrate.
Question No. 7: Can RCB be given a clean chit in the whole case?
No. The police is the main guilty as they have the responsibility of allowing security as well as the event. But RCB also cannot be spared because he did extremely poor communication about tickets and registration. Many people wanted to assume that the entry would be free. Later it was discovered that registration was necessary for the event. The mistake made from RCB here. When the players came to know about the accident, they could go to the hospital. Fans came to see them. The players needed to meet at least the injured fans, talk to the relatives of the deceased. It would improve his image and also presented an example of humanity.
The picture of the lathi charge was revealed, it was heartbreaking. These were fans, not rioters. He came to see his favorite player. The lathis show the failure of the system on them. There should be SOP for such events, as well as the administration should be fully prepared. It is not absolutely appropriate that we blame fans or stop traditions like Victory Parade. This cannot be the identity of a good society …
