World Test Championship 2025-27 Schedule: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the program of the 2025-27 World Test Championship (WTC) cycle. In this, a total of 71 matches will be played between nine teams in the next two years. This new version will begin on 17 June with the host of Bangladesh in Sri Lanka. The match between the two teams will be played in Gaul. The World Test Championship of 2023-25 ended on Saturday (June 14). South Africa defeated Australia in the final.
India will play the most matches
Australia will play the most Test match in the new cycle of the World Test Championship. There will be 22 matches in his account. England are second with 21 matches. Both these cricket powerhouses will face each other in the Ashes series in Australia at the end of 2025.
These challenges in front of Gill’s team
Bharat will launch its World Test Championship campaign on June 20 under the captaincy of Shubman Gill. The Indian team will play a total of 18 Test matches during this cycle. This includes domestic series against West Indies, South Africa and Australia. Also, the team has to participate in the Test series on England, Sri Lanka and New Zealand soils as well.

South African team will play on homeground in September 2026
Since the recent world champion South Africa has been invincible in nine consecutive Tests under the captaincy of Temba Bavuma since August 2024. The team’s first series in the new version will be from Pakistan in October 2025. His domestic fans will have to wait to see him playing by September 2026. The team will then play from Australia in the three -Test series. Teams play series both at home and outside in the World Test Championship. This has increased the thrill of the tournament further.
